Waste spilling from landfills, polluted air, plastic clogging our seas, disappearing nature and more. Hong Kong's first petition site @SupportHK 2.0 launches for positive change.

HONG KONG, CHINA - Media OutReach - 24 October 2015 - Hong Kong's first and only petition site, SupportHK 2.0 launches today with a fresh design and new online community of people who care for our environment and want to see positive change.

SupportHK 2.0 allows users to start or sign petitions on environmental or urban topics that affect them most, and to connect with others who also want to make change.

New features on the SupportHK site include a blog, newsfeed and news digest to keep Hong Kong informed about our urban and rural environments. The new site will also be home to 'Fish Outta Water' a cartoon satirising Hong Kong-styled change and evolution.

A new video 'Why Using SupportHK?' that explains the mission of SupportHK and how the Hong Kong public can speak up for the environment will be released via Support.org.

"Hong Kong people increasingly care about local environmental issues. They want to see change. The new features of SupportHK 2.0 will encourage more petition signatures and hopefully action," said Kelly Chan, Program Manager of SupportHK.

"The protests against inappropriate development within country parks, expanding landfills, citizens-led reducing-bottled-water-consumption campaigns and the recent public response to the unkind cut suffered by old trees in our city reflect that Hong Kong is deeply burdened with environmental challenges. SupportHK works to help citizens speak up and promote sustainable development in our city."
